Today, we shine a light on small businesses around the country —and it’s truly an honor to be part of this incredible community. Running a small business is not for the faint of heart. There have been countless moments (this year very much included) where I’ve wanted to throw in the towel. But I keep going, because I love what I do and honestly can’t imagine what I’d be doing otherwise.
If we want to keep small businesses alive, we must support them whenever possible. Sometimes it’s a little more expensive or a little less convenient. A large part of the reason for that is because a lot of small businesses choose to do things in a more sustainable way for people and the planet. Having a higher standard for quality over quantity is at the core of what we do. Sustainability takes on many forms and facets from the way we treat people, to how we source our materials, where we make our goods (in Los Angeles) and in small batches whenever possible and so on. Every time you choose to shop small, you’re not just making a purchase—you’re supporting dreams, creativity, and the literal blood, sweat, and tears of those behind the business.
Since 2020, we’ve all had to pivot countless times. It’s been a hard road for small businesses everywhere, mine included. Thank you for your support in all the ways you give it. It’s not just about purchasing, it’s about all the little things that make such a big difference from reading this email, to telling a friend, to following our socials, to liking posts and just spreading the love! Every bit of support means the world to us.
I pour my heart into this business, and if you’ve ever received an order from us, you’ve likely seen a handwritten note from me expressing my gratitude. Every sale allows me to support other small businesses along the way, and that’s what it’s all about—together, we rise!
